In this talk, we investigate the Cauchy problem for the shallow water type equationwith low regularity data in the periodic settings.We prove that the bilinearestimate in X_{s,b} with s<\frac{1}{2} is invalid. We also prove that the problem is locally well-posed in H^{s}(\mathbf{T}) with \frac{1}{6}<s<\frac{1}{2} for small initial data. The result of this paper improves the result of case n=1 of Himonas and Misiolek (Comm. Partial Diff. Eqns. 23(1998), 123-139.). The new ingredients are some new function spaces and some new Strichartz estimates.

闫威,博士,河南师范大学青年教授,硕士生导师,2011年6月在华南理工大学获得博士学位,2011年7月起在河南师范大学工作,先后主持国家自然科学基金天元基金和青年基金,已在Annales de l'Institut Henri Poincare (C) NonLinear Analysis, JDE,NoDEA, DCDS-A, Math. Narch.等发表20余篇SCI论文。
